When something is repeated frequently, people start associating it with truth or credibility simply due to the familiarity effect. This exploits the human tendency to equate repetition with reliability. Repetition increases the ease of processing (cognitive fluency), which the brain misinterprets as evidence of truth. This often applies to information or claims that, through repeated exposure, feel more accurate or reliable—even if they are false
