Grant Writer / Fundraiser

Researching, writing, and securing, grants awards, as well as the communication, promotion, and administration of all fundraising development activities. Duties include, researching applicable grant opportunities, drafting letters of intent and preparing grant proposals. A firm understanding of the project and a passion for the project's mission and ability to communicate its vision is critical for this position.

Responsibilities include:
searching for grants that the project is eligible for.
researching and pitching competitions that the project is eligible for.
maintaining a database of potential funders.
keeping track of application deadlines and submitting applications as directed.
building and expanding relationships with existing and potential funders.
building a crowdfunding campaign.

Preferred candidates will have:
prior grant writing experience, preferably in the non-profit sector.
a proven track record of non-profit fundraising from foundations, private, and government sources.
knowledge and familiarity with research techniques for fundraising prospect research.
knowledge of basic fundraising techniques and strategies.
the ability to work independently and with multidisciplinary teams and co-workers.
strong written communication skills; ability to write clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive proposals.

Compensation and Benefits:
This is an unpaid internship that can lead to a paid position within 90 days.
